Horror movie posters pulled for being too “gruesome.”

As reported in a story on CNN.com, a poster campaign for the upcoming horror flick Captivity has been halted after the posters, featuring “images of the abduction, torture and death of a young woman”, used in its ad campaign drew public outcry. Apparently, the posters were not approved by the MPAA – which is standard practice – before they were posted.
