Kurt Cobain’s “Horror Movie”

on April 3, 2007 | 1 Comment

Here’s a clip from what is said to be a horror movie made by Kurt Cobain at around age fifteen. It’s really a random collection of footage, including some stalker/slasher-type scenes and a Satanic ritual of some sort. At about the four minute mark there’s a kid thrashing around with a guitar that could maybe, possibly be the former Nirvana frontman — the footage is too shitty to get a really good look, though.

According to the Wikipedia: “The Horror Movies, also referred to as “Kurt’s Bloody Suicide”, is a home movie made by grunge singer Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and friends. It was filmed in 1984 and is composed mainly of random obscure acts such as a person getting stabbed with a fake knife and other random footage. The video is about 10 minutes long and could be classified as a horror film. The tentative title made up by people who had seen the tape was “Kurt’s Bloody Suicide” this due to the fact that Kurt pretends to cut his throat and wrist with a fake knife.”

Does it smell like teen spirit, or just a fake?
