Halloween Gig Posters #2 and #3

on October 4, 2007 | 5 Comments

Here’s a poster for RM scribe Trevor Tuminski’s band Jet Set Satellite for their upcoming Halloween show in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Trevor gave me free reign on the design but the one thing he didn’t want was a zombie with snot coming out of it’s nose or something to that effect. Since we both share a love for classic horror, who better than Karloff to look over the proceedings?

Next was a poster for local psycho outfits The Creepshow and The Matadors for a weekend of horror tunes and jager shots on October 26 and October 27. After reading our monster cereal piece in our Halloween issue, I was inspired to do something with one of the character’s. I’ll be catching The Creepshow’s gig on Friday, October 26.

  1. One of these days you need to make a step-by-step of how you work.

Thanks Retro. On a previous blog post I did a tutorial on how I did the Fulci retrospective cover illo, but yes I’d like to do more. Both of these posters were done in Adobe Illustrator on a Mac. The Horrorbilly poster was taken into photoshop and I simply screened a poster crease texture over it. Actually, the real secret is I hit the Apple-make-gig-poster button!

Snot coming out of nose bad, zaps coming out of eyes good.

    Love that booger-free poster.

  4. Nev says:

Love ‘em, especially the JSS poster.

  5. Jovanka says:

    Wow! Amazing, as always G-Spot!
