The Creepshow signs with Hellcat Records
The Creepshow have been extended family members with Rue Morgue for quite some time. We’ve watched them grow from a band playing to an audience of 100 people to a band that plays to a crowd of 2000, (if anyone was there when they opened for Rancid last year, you know exactly what I’m talking about). In 2006 they played our Voodoo Death Party, an off-site event of the Rue Morgue Festival of Fear, and they nearly blew the roof off of the Reverb. But the relationship didn’t end there. Shortly thereafter, they contacted yours truly to design a series of t-shirts which I’ve continued to do on a regular basis. Then they asked me to re-design their band logo and come up with artwork for their second CD release “Run For Your Life”, put out through the good dudes at Stomp Records. The first musical track on the record: Rue Morgue Radio. An infectious punk tune dedicated to the magazine’s sister radio show which haunts the weird wide web every Friday of every month. Last year we ran a feature on the band in issue #83 and Rodrigo invited them back to play our Night That Dripped Blood Festival of Fear party. Again, they played to a full house of horror fans who ate it up like a bowl of spilled brains. Since then they’ve been touring with very little time off all over North America and Europe, returning home with one crazy story after another. Well kids, it’s all about to really pay off. Hellcat Records are set to distribute “Run For Your Life” all over the States and Australia on October 26. I reckon that’s a pretty big deal for a band from all parts Onterrible.
So here’s to ya Creeps! Congratulations on all the success and we hope you sell a ship-load of records.
