The Lament of a Twilight Extra

on June 15, 2010 | Leave a comment

C.J. Leon was an extra in Twilight. C.J. Leon is not a Twilight fan. C.J. Leon did, however, write a song about the experience, called “Twilight Extra (A Song of Spite),” and there some good laughs in it.

C.J. also recorded “Cut U So — Zombie Gardener,” a “machete work song turned murder ballad,” based on the following:

1) “Negro Prison Blues and Songs” recorded by American folklorist Alan Lomax at the Mississippi and Louisiana State Penitentiaries,

2) hacking burdock with a machete on White Crow Farm, in BC, Canada,

3) the need to cut down a bunch of brambles outside my window,

4) those images you get in your head of war and death when you swing a blade in the air.

C.J. Leon is a bonafide weirdo. Respect.
