Flesh-eating fundraiser for Viscera Film Festival
Here’s an opportunity to lend a bit of support to the Viscera Film Festival, which showcases the work of female genre filmmakers. This Sunday, January 15, the ladies of Viscera will host a special virtual screening of Donner Pass, a new horror flick helmed by Elise Robertson. Thanks to the magic of modern technology (and perhaps the blood of the last unicorn), you can join Viscera founder Shannon Lark, programmer Heidi Martinuzzi, and board member Stacy Pippi Hammon for the live event, which kicks off at 7:30 pm PST/10:30 EST. For only $5 USD, you can watch the movie from the comfort of your sofa and participate in the conversation by chatting in real time with the hosts and other viewers. And the best part is, a portion of the proceeds from your ticket help support women filmmakers via the non-profit Viscera organization. You can learn more and buy tickets here or on the event’s Facebook page.
This is actually the last in a series of five virtual screenings, the first going down tonight at 7:30pm PST. Tonight’s screening will be hosted by the Robertson and producer Mouncey Ferguson; other screenings will be hosted by the likes of John Kassir (the voice of the Crypt Keeper) and Donner Pass cast members Desiree Hall and Brandon Morales. Again, check out the Constellation site for the full schedule.
