Day of the Dud
I love the trailer for the upcoming Day of the Dead remake. Not because it’s remotely promising, but because it pretty much sums up in a couple of minutes everything that’s wrong in the genre, from the asinine one-liners, to the pointless sex scenes, to miscast pretty faces, to the cheese-ball action scenes to the… and so on and so on. It’s as if, somehow, the filmmakers have genetically engineered the movie to suck on a molecular level — perhaps with some kind of laser invented in Dr. Boll’s laboratory. And this from Steve Miner, the guy who made House and Friday the 13th parts two and three. Wow.
To cleanse the palate, check out this Japanese trailer for the original Day of the Dead. Nice and gutsy, and who can resist the way the narrator says “zoum-bee?”
And here’s a trailer for Day of the Dead, a documentary on the Mexican Day of the Dead. The funny thing is, this one seems like it’s going to turn into a horror film at about the half-way point. I thought the rain was going to bring the zombies to the surface. Alas…
Of course, there’s also, A Hard Day’s Night of the Living Dead. I think it goes without saying that we’d let ‘em have Ringo if meant getting away.
Let’s also take this opportunity to revisit this gem: Brokeback of the Dead.
I’m also requesting that somebody make a Day of the Dead/Big Lebowski mash-up trailer called Day of the Dude. “We’re talking about unchecked aggression here, dude.”
One of these days I will make good on my promise of going as The Big Zombowski for Halloween.

The sad thing is… I’ll see it. Because it’s a zombie movie. And I can’t stop myself.

Oh, and the only positive thing I know to say about the film is that the writer made it a point to let people know that he did NOT script the line “It’s a bad day to be a zombie.” That was ad-libbed, apparently.

It still won’t be as bad as Creepshow 3…..Unless.

This blasphemous piece of dreck makes me weep for the state of horror! It’s almost as if the writer doesn’t realize that this is a continuation of a series. From what they show in that painfully long trailer, people are only becoming aware of an outbreak. Didn’t we establish this in the piece of shit remake of Dawn? And for God’s sake, was that Nick Cannon I saw? George Romero must be rolling over in his grave. You say he’s not dead? We’ll wait til the release of Diary of the Dead to render that verdict!
Sincerely,
One totally jaded and pissed off zombie fanatic!

This is going to stink more than Big Top Peewee.

I, for one, liked the 2004 “Dawn of the Dead.”

That japanese trailer for Romero’s Day rules. Miner’s trailer for his pointless remake looks like a bad Prison Break episode. Also, why does most of the action take place at night??
I’m keeping my expectations low for the zombie movies coming out, that way I won’t be disappointed.

This just looks TERRIBLE. Hopefully it will lose money at the box office. Yes, I also agree it doesnt seem like a continuation of anything.
If anyone seriously thinks this looks good…..you had better reevaluate your perceptions as a horror fan. And if you waste money on watching this…..yikes…you may as well throw your money in a drainage ditch
