Calling All Creeps!

See that DVD above for Night of the Creeps? Well, it ain’t available in North America. Luckily, though, if you live in the Toronto area, you can come see the 1986 zombie splatter-comedy classic tonight (Thursday), 9:30pm, at the Bloor, because we’ve got both a print of it, and director Fred Dekker (also the man behind Monster Squad and Robocop 3!) live in-person introducing the film and participating in a Q&A. Plus, the Q&A will be hosted by Michael Felsher, NotC expert and genre cinephile behind a bunch of DVD special features, including those on the Monster Squad disc (he’s also working on behind-the-scenes stuff for Diary of the Dead, which you can get a taste of here.
That ain’t all, though. We’ve got another surprise for Creeps fans, but you’ll have to come down to the screening to find out. I haven’t been this excited since I killed all those brain slug-infected zombies on prom night!

Lastly, here are two pics from this year’s San Diego ComicCon, where I met Fred and some of the Monster Squad cast, including star Andre Gower (That’s Rue Morgue ad-man Jody on the other side of him).
