Rue Morgue - Abbatoir

Royal Flush + Revolver Magazine - subscription = illo job!

About two months ago a copy of Royal Flush magazine surfaced at the office, a super slick publication devoted to “music, underground comics, stupid action films, low-brow art, dick jokes and other socially uplifting subject matter”. I was blown away by the velvety cover, stunning layouts and the amount of top notch illustrators featured within the pages. I found their myspace page and blindly emailed them to ask them how to obtain a back issue of their Misfits tribute issue. Turns out Josh Bernstein, editor-in-chief of RF, is also the art director for Revolver Magazine, “the world’s loudest rock magazine”, which I’ve been a long time reader of. Josh mentioned he had just bought a copy of our Fido issue and had nothing but good things to say about the mag. He also said he would keep me in mind for any future illo gigs and about three days later he commissioned me for an illustration to accompany their review of Ministry’s new album. Here’s a pic of the cover and the inside illustration that’s on stands now! Now, if only that subscription to Revolver I ordered a year ago would arrive.
