More Rock and… Shock!
I just received a few photos from my Pal Uncle Creepy of DREAD CENTRAL from the Rock&Shock convention Gary and I attended recently. These are too lunatic to not post.
Here’s the ROCK:
Johnny Butane, The VOOK and Uncle Creepy. As you can plainly see, we have absolutely no idea how to have fun.
The SHOCK:

Halloween Haunt
If you’re skulking around the Toronto area, I highly recommend skulking your skulky self over to Canada’s Wonderland. Until Halloween, the behemoth amusement park outside of Toronto has been transformed into a horror lover’s playground called Halloween Haunt. Wonderland invited Rue Morgue to check it out, and I can say, as someone who’s been to [...]
R.I.P. Deborah Kerr
Deborah Kerr, star of one of the greatest ghost movies ever made, The Innocents, passed away at the age of 86. I love her performance in the film, as a woman in charge of two young children who is driven mad by a supernatural force. It’s a must-see for any horror fan.
From the Internet Movie [...]
Deaditors
Canadian Illustrator Rob Sacchetto of ZOMBIEPORTRAITS.COM has just turned Dave and I into the colourful living dead for an upcoming documentary for Space. We’re flattered at how sexy he made us look. Thanks Rob!

Rock and Shock 2007
Jovanka and I survived the long hours at the booth, the late night parties, and sexual advances from Tony Todd (I kid!), but here’s a few snap shots of some of the shennanigans from the Rock and Shock convention in Worcester, MA. We met a lot of rabid RM fans, talked a lot of shop [...]
In Praise of Flame-Retardant Material
Liisa forwarded this for all your Halloween safety needs. It’s a highly entertaining two-part look at how to be safe at Halloween.
Just why is that little girl wandering busy roads at night by herself in the first place? Clearly, the biggest danger here is bad parenting. And her transformation from witch to princess is really [...]
A Shout Out to Glover Lovers
To join us for the Wizard of Gore CineMacabre screening tomorrow night (Thursday) at the Bloor, 9:30p.m. More info here, and the trailer below.
I was trying to figure out what my favourite Crispin Glover movie is, and I think it’s gotta be River’s Edge, although for quotability, there’s nothing like saying, “BIFF, get your damn [...]
Tricks and Treats from Mom and Dad
My parents surprised us today at Rue Morgue with this ghoulish gift basket filled with everything but candy apples and razor blades. It was a gift to Rod and the Rue Crew congratulating us on our ten year anniversary. Thanks for the support mom and dad, we love you too!
Worst. Twist. Ev-er.
“High Tension was on track to become one of the great horror films of our time. That is, until its final 10 minutes, where the filmmakers raised their middle fingers to the audience and said, ‘Hey, you know that awesome movie you were just watching? … Yeah, well, fuck you. None of it happened.’”
