Rue Morgue - Abbatoir

London Calling….

Yep, it’s getting close to that time of year. No, not Thanksgiving. Not Xmas. Yep, that’s right — holiday time!

This year for the holidays instead of heading south or even staying home in front of the fire (you know, the one you buy on DVD ….) we have decided to trek into the lovely, cold and rainy UK. Nothing like back packing through England, Wales and Scotland for a few weeks in December/January!

We have a bunch of things planned, but I’m sure i’ll miss something totally amazing. If anyone has any cool spots, cities, whatever, that they think are worth checking out — please let me know!

xoxo

Hey, I’m actually spending three months in the U.K. right now- definitely check out Edinburgh, the city is fantastic, I was up there this weekend. The castle is definitely worth a look, they have a few different ghost tours going on at night all year round, most of them leave from near St. Giles Cathedral. London is amazing, but a bit crazy, there’s so much to do there I can’t even start to list it. Manchester is fun, and the Lake District in northern England is beautiful. I’ll post again if I think of anything else.

Ahh, Blightey where I grew up. Haven’t been there in 3 years but I will this Xmas too. Hit the pubs, fish and chippies and of course CURRY houses (nothing like a Vindaloo after a few pints)!! Me, I’ll by by the English coast, in Kent (Cliffs of Dover and all that jazz) with my sister’s family. Sites worth checking out: my home town London (of course - spend days there so much history to soak up) - recommend the Original and Official London Walks (visit their website) and especially the Jack the Ripper Walk for a lovely and creepy underground view of the city, if time take a trip to the old Roman town of Bath (very quaint), Oxford is a historical delight too and not too far away, Edinburgh in Scotland with its grand castle… but most importantly pubs (ask the locals wherever you are for their favourites and restaurants too, always a safe bet. Enjoy and might see at the airport! - Adam
