Time has a great Q&A with Stephen King. Here are three reasons to give it a read:

1) A diatribe about the sorry state of the North American news media, which includes the phrase, “Britney Spears is just trailer trash. That’s all.”

2) News of a supernatural musical he’s working on.

3) This awesome quote: “Someone in the Bush family should actually be waterboarded so they could report on it to George. I said, I didn’t think he would do it, but I suggested Jenna be waterboarded and then she could talk about whether or not she thought it was torture.”

The guy has a way with words, on and off the page. And he doesn’t mince ‘em, either. Hopefully one of these days he’ll agree to an interview with Rue Morgue.

    I heart Stephen King. (Or: I used to heart him but I cannot get through any of his recent stuff but I still keep on trying because I used to spend all of my babysitting money buying used copies of his books from the Wee Book Inn and so he therefore helped to shape my worldview in general and I have a soft, rotten spot for him in my soft, rotten heart).

    Thanks for the link….. I hope he’ll agree to a Rue Morgue interview, too.

    What’s with the resistance to King doing a Rue piece, Dave? You think he’d jump at the chance. Your cover story on The Mist rocked.
