Hammer Hotties

Good on flickr user Poletti for taking the time to post screen grabs of every Hammer House of Horror hottie. There are dozens and dozens of classic Hammer beauties posted here, so you can plan your retro-gothic dream date today.
Boingboing posted the link, but I also noticed some of Poletti’s other sets tailor-made for horror […]

Rob Zombie’s Halloween Condensed

I just discovered (via Cracked.com) a fun website called The Editing Room, where the painfully concise and witty Rod Hilton writes condensed and wonderfully acerbic versions of Hollywood screenplays. For example, he efficiently cuts to the heart of Rob Zombie’s Halloween.
A choice excerpt:
DAEG is taken to an INSANE ASYLUM where MALCOLM MCDOWELL interviews him.

Fulci is Going to Eat You

The lovable sickos at Vagrancy Films, who provide the mad movie trailers of our CineMacabre nights, are screening a 35mm print of Fulci’s Zombie, this Saturday, 11pm at the Rainbow Galleria, in London Ontario. If you haven’t seen Zombie on 35mm with a theatre full of horror fans, you haven’t really lived… or un-lived.
And, if […]

Tonight There Will be Blood

Don’t forget, it’s movie night tonight, and it’s a big one. For this month only we’re presenting CineMacabre on Wednesday so we can bring back (in 35mm) the slasher sensation from last year’s Midnight Madness program at TIFF, Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s Inside. This may be the last time you’ll get to see it […]

Threat Level: Okie

According to this Associated Press article, a low budget horror film shot in Oklahoma, called A Beautiful Day, caused the latest unwarranted terrorist freak-out when the filmmakers posted a teaser trailer on YouTube that promised on April 25 “the end is coming.” The date was a reference to the film’s premiere at Muskogee’s Bare Bones […]

Top 27 Horror Comedies

OMGhorror.com is quickly becoming one of my favourite websites for horror goodness. Today I happened across a list they compiled of the top 27 (?) Horror Comedies, which are some of the most re-watchable and fun movies out there. Major extra points for including The Burbs, an office favourite.
#27: Fright Night
#26: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
#25: […]

Attack of the B-Movie Art Show

Creator of The Creep Machine, (also known as Lythron - a bad ass artist in his own right) is about to launch Attack of the B-Movie Art Show at the Space Gallery in San Francisco. Artists were asked to contribute works dedicated to low-budget, grindhouse and b-movie fright flicks. What’s not to love about that?
Check […]

Wicked Sick!

Boingboing posted a link to this brief but awesome slide-show of nasty vintage horror comic book covers. The one with the severed head was made an example of during the inquiry that gave birth to the Comics Code Authority, as detailed in the story from this recent post. To borrow a term from our own […]

From Zodiac to Zombies?

Over at thedeadbolt.com, there’s a column called Movie Matchmaker dedicated to pairing up a filmmaker with the perfect yet-to-be-made movie project. Currently, they’d like David Fincher to direct the adaptation of Max Brooks’ World War Z, which seems like a fantastic idea.
I love World War Z, in fact I’d go so far as to say […]
