Although such extreme dumb-fucked-ness as this bible-thumping woman shows is certainly not espoused by most of the Christian church, there is a pervasive promotion of ignorance throughout much of it.
For example, before I left Christianity for good and was still "of the faith," I remember that one of the elders of our church told my wife that she was concerned about me because I "thought too much." That was an eye opening comment.
As another example, a woman that I work with recently asked me, when we were having a discussion about the reliability of the biblical creation story, "How then do you explain the fact that men have one less rib than women?" It took an almost herculean effort to not laugh in her face. The scary thing was that I was taught this same ignorant "fact" 30 years prior when I attended a Christian junior high school.

No, the purpose of POETV is to essentially serve as a filter for videos its audience would most likely want to see without having to piddle around with YouTube or Google Video or wherever the video is sourced from. When users find something they think might be of interest to the POETV crowd, they put it up on there.
