This year’s Festival of Fear came and with it brought the petrifying presences of John Carpenter (check out his Q & A with Dave Alexander), Tony Todd, James Marsters, Juliet Landau, Rose McGowan, Chris Sarandon, and the list goes on and on, but there is so much more to a convention than just the featured guests. Their union has spawned a book trailer; it’s awesome and we’re going to show it to you. SINISTER SEVEN: MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE’S EDWARD DOUGLAS ON HIS FILM THE DEAD MATTER
Rue Morgue readers are likely familiar with the atmospheric music of Midnight Syndicate. The duo of Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka are fixtures at our annual Festival of Fear conventions, and their atmospheric albums are essentially spooky soundtracks to films which don’t exist. So it came as little surprise to learn that Douglas had actually made a horror film himself.

Audio Drome: Midnight Syndicate Release "Lost"
Halloween instrumentalists Midnight Syndicate have released a new video for their song, “Lost.” The song first appeared on the Dead Matter: Cemetery Gates CD and is also featured in the upcoming dark fantasy film The Dead Matter and its soundtrack. The music video will be included as an extra on The Dead Matter DVD, which will be available along with the soundtrack and Midnight Syndicate’s Halloween Music Collection greatest hits compilation at all Hot Topic stores on July 30th.
