We all know zombie-killin’ is a family affair, and having The Walking Dead‘s Daryl Dixon (series favourite Norman Reedus) at the Festival of Fear without his big brother just seemed wrong. So we’re happy to announce that Michael Rooker has joined this year’s lineup! Besides his role as Merle Dixon on TWD, Michael has starred in an impressive lineup of genre flicks, including Slither* and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Michael is a character, and he never fails to entertain. It’s a pleasure to have him on board, and you can bet it’ll be a blast having both of the Dixon boys hanging around the Metro Toronto Convention Convention Centre August 22-25. We hope you’ll be there too! (For news and updates, be sure to like the Festival of Fear on Facebook.)
*Michael’s Slither co-star Nathan Fillion will also be a guest at this year’s Festival! Coincidence? Yes, actually, but a damn fine one, don’t you think?
We are pleased as putrid punch to announce the latest round of horror heavyweights to grace this year’s Rue Morgue Festival of Fear lineup. Though I’m afraid I stole my own thunder with the post title, here’s more info…
Vancouver horror fans, this is a call to arms! Rue Morgue needs dedicated and professional folks to man our booth at The Festival of Fear Vancouver, and we want YOU!
While that headline up there ↑ pretty much says it all, it sure doesn’t fill you in on just how special I believe our two offsite Festival of Fear events are this year. Sure, I’m biased as all hell but if these two horror happenings don’t get your cynical heart pounding like the thundering hooves of 60,000+ festivalgoers, well, you may be better off dead!
Rue Morgue Radio’s Tomb Dragomir has finished splicing together Part One of the Tomb TV episode he’s been stitching together from all the footage he culled while stalking the floor of this year’s Festival of Fear – including a tour through Fort Fright’s haunted house, some makeup talk with Robert Englund, a bro-down with Ghoulish Gary, an unexpected song-and-dance routine with a disturbingly bug-eyed Cannibal Cam, Tomb Toons, and oh so much more!
Tickets for all of this year’s Festival of Fear off-site events – including Near Dark with Lance Henriksen, an intimate evening with John Waters, and the Official FoF 2011 Party with Tom Savini and Blood Ceremony – are now on sale here. Friday night’s Shocktail Party with Ghoultown is absolutely FREE!
