SHOCKTAIL PARTYAdvance tickets for this year’s Festival of Fear off-site events ( TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME and SHOCKTAIL PARTY 2014 ) are now available for online purchase through Rue Morgue’s online Shoppe.
On Friday, August 23, Rue Morgue presents the 2013 SHOCKTAIL PARTY Official Party of the 10th Annual Festival of Fear Horror Expo, featuring a costume contest hosted by BARBARA CRAMPTON and the SOSKA TWINS, and a very special performance from THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE! The event will also feature the sinister sounds of DJs TOMB DRAGOMIR and ERIC VON ERIC. Sponsored by Kraken Rum. Friday August 23 @ Revival (783 College Street) 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door, or you can get them in advance for only $15 at the Rue Morgue booth at the Festival of Fear. You can also buy advance tickets online here…
While that headline up there ↑ pretty much says it all, it sure doesn’t fill you in on just how special I believe our two offsite Festival of Fear events are this year. Sure, I’m biased as all hell but if these two horror happenings don’t get your cynical heart pounding like the thundering hooves of 60,000+ festivalgoers, well, you may be better off dead!
Just in time to get you ramped up for the weekend, RM contributor Lyle Blackburn sent us his band Ghoultown’s new oil-and-blood-painted video for the track, “Drink with the Living Dead.” Which is decidedly different than my usual m.o. of drinking until I am the living dead.
Click past the jump and consider it your primer for the 2011 Festival of Fear Shocktail Party, Friday August 26 at The Courthouse (57 Adelaide St. E. – Toronto), where Lyle and the boys will be appearing live to lay down some seriously dusty, beer-and-tequila-soaked hellbilly rock, cured the way it was meant to be: in the Lone Star State, punk! It’s gonna be a huge party and, best of all, it’s FREE!
