A Behind-The-Pages Look At “Goosebumps: Secrets of the Swamp” From IDW Publishing

Wednesday, April 28, 2021 | Exclusives

For ’90s kids, Goosebumps opened the floodgates to the horror genre and now, on May 4th, author Marieke Nijkamp (This Is Where It Ends) is debuting a nostalgic treat from IDW Publishing in GOOSEBUMPS: SECRETS OF THE SWAMP.

This trade paperback tells the tale of 12-year-old Blake, who is shipped away to stay with her weird aunt in Fever Swamp for the summer. Though she expects her weeks to be filled with video games, mosquito bites and a whole lot of nothing, she finds herself in a spooky turf war between werewolves and wolf hunters. Blake has never let anything–including her prosthetic hand–slow her down or stop her from crushing her opponents in a game of Lore Hunter, but real-life monsters on all sides take danger and fear to a whole new level, and Blake will need to use all of her gaming skills to escape.

Ahead of the release, Rue Morgue presents an exclusive look at the creative process behind GOOSEBUMPS: SECRETS OF THE SWAMP. Below, peruse written script pages by Nijkamp, along with Yasmin Flores Montanez’s (Ricanstruction: Reminiscing & Rebuilding Puerto Rico) inked, colored, and final pages that bring Nijkamp’s vision to life!

GOOSEBUMPS: SECRETS OF THE SWAMP is available May 4th, 2021 from IDW Publishing.
