DC Comics’ monstrous hero is coming back, and the star of his first big-screen vehicle is now on board.

Adrienne Barbeau tweeted today that she’s “Happy to be headed back to the swamps!” in the DC Universe streaming SWAMP THING series. She’ll be joining Derek Mears in the title role and Andy Bean as his original human incarnation Dr. Alec Holland, Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane, Will Patton and Virginia Madsen as Avery and Maria Sunderland, Kevin Durand as Jason Woodrue and others. It’s unclear at this point which role Barbeau, who starred as government agent Alice Cable in Wes Craven’s 1982 SWAMP THING feature, will play here. The show’s executive producers include James Wan, Len Wiseman (who directed the pilot), Michael Clear, Mark Verheiden and ANNABELLE franchise scripter Gary Dauberman (the latter two scripted the first episode). CHEAP THRILLS’ E.L. Katz also helmed an episode; Justin Raleigh and Fractured FX are handling the special makeup.
