The much-praised, festival-award-winning supernatural chiller ECHOES OF FEAR is making its hi-def disc debut with a bunch of extra features; read on for the details.

Brian and Laurence Avenet-Bradley directed and produced ECHOES from Brian’s screenplay, with Laurence as cinematographer. The cast is headed by Trista Robinson, Hannah Race, Marshal Hilton, Paul Chirico, Elif Savas and Curt Lambert; the synopsis: “Alysa [Robinson] inherits her grandfather’s house following his sudden death from an apparent heart attack. She cannot keep the house so she travels there to prepare it for sale. While she is packing away her grandfather’s belongings, some strange and unexplained events inside the house start to spook her, and she soon comes to the conclusion that she is not alone there. Even her pet mouse senses a presence. Something supernatural lurks in the house, and she begins to believe that her grandfather was trying to find something before he died. When her friend Steph [Race] arrives, they attempt to solve the mystery, and what they uncover together forces them to confront the diabolical truth and the evil that hides inside.”

The Blu-ray, released by Horror Pack/FilmSpawn, presents the movie in 16×9 widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio, plus the following supplements:

  • ECHOES IN THE DARK: 55-minute behind-the-scenes feature
  • Festival Q&As with the filmmakers
  • Interview with Laurence Avenet-Bradley
  • Red-band trailer

“It’s all original footage,” Brian says of ECHOES IN THE DARK. “Lo and I take the lead actresses and key crew through a tour of the ECHOES OF FEAR house at night. It’s all shot in night-vision, and it’s creepy and fun, with behind-the-scenes info and stories mixed in as we go crawlspace to crawlspace and discuss the true events in the house that inspired the movie. And then, unexpectedly, people started hearing things that we captured as it happened with the night-vision camera and our interior/exterior security cameras. So at times, it feels very much like an actual ghost-hunt show. It’s definitely not your typical bonus doc.”

The disc can currently be ordered at Amazon, Target, Best Buy and other on-line retailers. An autographing event for the ECHOES Blu-ray will be held on Saturday, May 16 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at Burbank, CA’s Dark Delicacies horror store (822 N. Hollywood Way). Attending will be the Avenet-Bradleys, actors Robinson, Hilton, Chirico and Lambert, special makeup effects artist Renae Goodhew, composer Benedikt Brydern, visual effects artist Sarah Paul and grip Chris Garcia. For more info, keep an eye on the event’s webpage and Facebook page.
