After taking best-feature prizes at Shriekfest, the Atlanta Horror Film Festival and the Austin Film Festival, the survival shocker is ready for wider exposure.

Cranked Up Films has announced that it has acquired ALIVE, directed by Rob Grant from a script by Chuck McCue and Jules Vincent, and will release it to select theaters and VOD September 18. Thomas Cocquerel, Camille Stopps and Angus Macfadyen star; the synopsis: “A severely injured man [Cocquerel] and woman [Stopps] awaken in an abandoned sanitorium with no memory of who they are or what has happened. A sadistic caretaker [Macfadyen] discourages their questions and doles out punishments whenever they refuse to cooperate or try to escape. When they finally make their escape to freedom, they discover the answers to who they are–revealing even greater horror.”

“We have both been lifelong horror film buffs,” McCue and Vincent say in a statement, “and it was hugely rewarding to bring our own story to life with such a talented team. We look forward to scaring and delighting audiences with ALIVE.”
