Big Scares From The Big Easy In “Soul City”

Not only is the The Big Easy simply dripping with local flavor, it’s also one of America’s most haunted cities: an atmosphere of living history and cultural identity that directing duo Coodie and Chike perfectly to capture in their New Orleans-set series SOUL CITY when it debuts on April 30th. 

Exclusive to Topic, the streaming service from First Look Media, SOUL CITY draws influence from The Twilight Zone and Tales from the Crypt for a new anthology series that magnifies the lives of a vibrant American city’s urban population through psychological horror. Chike Ozah (who was born and raised in the city) and his directing partner Clarence “Coodie” Simmons’ resume includes collaborations with Kanye West, Pitbull and Erykah Badu, as well as critically acclaimed features such as the ESPN 30-for-30 Benji and Muhammad Ali: The People’s Champ, which took home the 2016 NAACP image award.
