Brazilian gorefest “SKULL: THE MASK” sets VOD/disc date; art unveiled

The fest/Shudder favorite will be painting more home screens red next month.

RLJE Films has announced that it will bring SKULL: THE MASK to VOD/digital HD platforms and DVD October 26. Written and directed by Kapel Furman and Armando Fonseca, it stars Natallia Rodrigues, Wilton Andrade, Tristan Aronovich, David Wendefilm and Rurik Jr. as “Skull.” The synopsis: “After disappearing over 50 years ago, an ancient artifact known as the Mask of Anhangá resurfaces at an archaeological dig in the Amazon. It is brought to Sao Paulo to be exhibited at a museum, but before reaching its destination, the Mask starts to claim its victims as it possesses and forces them to carry out visceral sacrifices in gruesome fashion. With the body count increasing, it’s up to Officer Beatriz Obdias [Rodrigues] to find the Mask and put an end to the murder spree.”

The DVD will present the movie in 2.39:1 widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, for a retail price of $27.97.
