Long in the works, Australian genre specialist Chris Sun’s nature-amok shocker BOAR is set to make its world premiere at Australia’s Monster Fest. Read on to see a teaser trailer and new poster for BOAR and more details on the festival’s offerings.

Monster Fest takes place at Melbourne, Australia’s Lido Cinemas November 23-26, and the first-wave programming announcement includes six new features from Down Under, most making their world premieres. BOAR, about a giant, bloodthirsty pig running amok, stars Nathan Jones (MAD MAX: FURY ROAD), horror fave Bill Moseley, John Jarratt (WOLF CREEK), Ernie Dingo, Chris Haywood, Simone Buchanan, Melissa Tkautz, Steve Bisley and Rodger Ward. “We’re delighted to be returning to Melbourne with this film,” says Sun, whose previous CHARLIE’S FARM opened the 2014 Monster Fest. “BOAR is everything I love about horror cinema in one big, nasty, brutal package—it’s got everything you could possibly want in an Aussie horror film…thrills, spills, chills, shocks and a massive, dirty, vicious one-ton blood-crazed hog! Watch out Monster Fest-BOAR is coming to get ya!”

Also part of the Aussie lineup are Leigh Ormsby’s zombie film THE LAST HOPE, Daniel Armstrong’s TARNATION, Donna McRea’s LOST GULLY ROAD, Addison Heath’s Japan-shot THE VIPER’S HEX and the comedy ALL NIGHT GAMING from Michael Cusack, creator of the YouTube hit DAMO & DARREN. Punk cinema icon Dick Dale will present the latest installment of his TRASHARAMA program, and the first four episodes of Stu Simpson’s new action/comedy web series DRAGON FORCE X. Hailing from other countries, Canadian writer/director Lowell Dean’s ANOTHER WOLFCOP will screen, along with French newcomer Coralie Fargeat’s REVENGE. Locally produced short films will precede each feature.
