Originally slated for the summer, the Focus Features horror film written and directed by Jacob Chase, based on his short film LARRY (pictured), now has a new date.

COME PLAY was originally set to debut July 24 and will now see North American release October 30. It stars Gillian Jacobs, John Gallagher Jr. (10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, HUSH, UNDERWATER) and newcomer Azhy Robertson, with a creative team including cinematographer Maxime Alexandre (CRAWL, THE NUN, ANNABELLE: CREATION), composer Roque Baños (DON’T BREATHE, EVIL DEAD) and the Jim Henson Creature Shop. The synopsis: “Oliver [Robertson] is a lonely young boy who feels different from everyone else. Desperate for a friend, he seeks solace and refuge in his ever-present cell phone and tablet. When a mysterious creature uses Oliver’s devices against him to break into our world, Oliver’s parents [Jacobs and Gallagher] must fight to save their son from the monster beyond the screen.”
