Dive Into the Uncanny Valley with Crypt TV’s Chilling Short Film “MANNEQUIN”

Thursday, March 22, 2018 | Exclusive

“Whatever you do… STAY AWAY from that BOX!”

Founded by twenty-five year old entrepreneur Jack Davis and horror auteur Eli Roth, Crypt TV has become one of the go-to places for horror short films in recent years. Feeling a serious lack of horror on social media and digital platforms, Davis and Roth wanted to create a place where horror could be watched on the smallest of screens. While there have been many viral hits and marquee characters such as the creepy clown Giggles to come out of Crypt TV, the recently-premiered Mannequin by Dante Aubain and Danny Summonte may be one of their most unnerving films yet.

Mannequin follows a young man named Dylan (played by Summonte) who receives a mysterious package at his door addressed from “Uncle Charlie” along with a note saying “Take care of her.” The box contains a nightmare inducing mannequin head that looks just a little too real. Aubain and Summonte’s carefully composed shots and use of minimalist sound makes for an effective slow burn that will make you never want to ask “what’s in the box?” ever again.
