We’re already looking forward to the 23rd annual Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, and the event’s official poster has just been unveiled to whet our appetites further.

Fantasia 2019 takes place July 11-August 1 in the Canadian city, and will showcase over 100 feature films and numerous shorts in the horror, fantasy and other genres, with many attending filmmakers and actors. The festival will also host the Frontières International Co-Production Market, which brings together filmmakers and financiers from around the world to help make movies happen. The festival lineup is still being curated, and the deadline for submissions is May 2; you can see the details here.

The poster seen below was created by illustrator and Fantasia regular Donald Caron, showcasing characters who have become favorites in the festival’s art: Le Cheval Noir the black horse, the giant flying cat and the luchador pug.
