Festival-fave chiller “DACHRA” gets distribution for this year

Winner of Scariest Film honors at the Overlook Film Festival, it’s now set to terrorize a wider audience.

New York-based distributor Dekanalog has announced its acquisition of DACHRA for its 2021 release slate. Written and directed by Tunisian filmmaker Abdelhamid Bouchnak and based on true events, it also played Venice, Fantasia, Fantastic Fest and FrightFest. Yassmine Dimassi, Aziz Jebali, Bilel Slatnia, Hela Ayed and Bahri Rahali star: the synopsis: “A journalism student [Dimassi] and her friends become trapped in an isolated village while trying to solve a gruesome criminal case that is over 25 years old.” Check out an early trailer for DACHRA below and look for more on the movie at this site as it nears release.
