Film Ventures faves “THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW” and “MORTUARY” coming on MVD Blu-rays

Two cult slasher films from the glory days of the ’80s are returning on hi-def discs.

MVD Entertainment Group will release Mark Rosman’s THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW (pictured) and Howard Avedis’ MORTUARY, originally released by Film Ventures International, on Blu-ray and standard-edition DVD July 6 as part of the MVD Rewind Collection. SORORITY ROW is the stylish story of seven sorority sisters stalked by a mysterious killer after a prank gone fatally wrong, while MORTUARY, starring PIECES’ Christopher George and Lynda Day George and a young Bill Paxton, is about murders centering on the titular body shop. SORORITY ROW will be presented on the Blu-ray in a 1.78:1 transfer with LPCM 2.0 stereo and an alternate version with the director-approved pre-credit sequence with mono audio. Special features are:

  • Audio commentary by director Mark Rosman and stars Eileen Davidson and Kathryn McNeil

Retail prices are $29.95 for the Blu-rays, $19.95 for the DVDs.
