George A. Romero’s classic DAY OF THE DEAD has already been remade once, and now it has been “reimagined” for a film opening next year. Read on for the info and to see the teaser poster.

Saban Films will release DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE to theaters, VOD and digital January 5, 2018. Directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens (THE CORPSE OF ANNA FRITZ) from a script by Mark Tonderai (HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET) and Lars Jacobson, the movie stars Johnathon Schaech, Sophie Skelton, Marcus Vanco and Jeff Gum. According to the official synopsis (which doesn’t sound at all like Romero’s film), “DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE is set in a postapocalyptic, zombie-filled world where a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past. The only thing is, he’s a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her world.” Stay tuned for more on the new DAY.
