French director Claire Denis, whose films have previously dealt with Earthbound concerns (including horrific ones, as in TROUBLE EVERY DAY), heads for the stars with her English-language debut, the dark sci-fi film HIGH LIFE. The trailer has hit the web this morning; jump past the jump to see it.

Coming to theaters April 12 from A24, HIGH LIFE was written by Denis and Jean-Pol Fargeau with Geoff Cox and Andrew Litvack, and stars Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, André Benjamin and SUSPIRIA’s Mia Goth. Pattison, Benjamin and Goth play Death Row inmates imprisoned on a space vehicle, while Binoche is a mad scientist in what is described as “a staggering and primal film about love and intimacy, suffused with anguished memories of a lost Earth.”
