A collective of top North American horror festivals is launching a new genre-film showcase next month, and has a new video teaser (directed by Kevin Fermini, with music by Dream Division) to build anticipation.
Running on-line October 8-11, Nightstream has been put together by the staffs of the Boston Underground Film Festival, the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, the Overlook Film Festival, the Popcorn Frights Film Festival and the North Bend Film Festival. The program consists of more than 30 features and close to 200 short films from around the world, plus numerous live events and panels, with the full lineup set to be announced next week. Nightstream will be geolocked to the U.S. and is a charitable event, with ticket purchases going to the showcased filmmakers, as well as charitable causes and struggling businesses in the parent fests’ home cities. Early-bird badges are currently on sale at the Nightstream website, with a Night Owl Badge (five features or short programs and unlimited events for $55 and a Homebody Badge (10 features or short programs and unlimited events) for $90.
