“FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III,” “JAWS 3-D” and more at NYC 3D fest

Today, the third dimension is applied to the biggest blockbuster releases, but back in the 1970s and ’80s, 3D was the province of horror and exploitation. A week-long festival in New York City this month celebrates these films with a lineup of 35mm screenings, including new prints and personal appearances.

From October 13-19, the Quad Cinema (34 West 13th Street) presents Comin’ at Ya!, featuring 19 3D horror, action and science fiction flicks, programmed by Harry Guerro. The complete lineup is:

AMITYVILLE 3-D: Sunday, October 15 at 5:55 p.m. and Tuesday, October 17 at 6:45 p.m.
A*P*E: Saturday, October 14 at 2:55 p.m.
THE BUBBLE (world premiere of the uncut version): Saturday, October 14 at 12:15 p.m.
COMIN’ AT YA!: Monday, October 16 at 6:50 p.m. and Thursday, October 19 at 4:50 p.m.
DYNASTY: Thursday, October 19 at 6:50 p.m.
FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN: Saturday, October 14 at 4:55 p.m.
