Michael Winner’s insanely over-the-top evil-stepfather flick SCREAM FOR HELP has been long desired on disc, and now it’s finally hitting Blu-ray courtesy of Shout! Factory on its Scream Factory line. The complete specs have been revealed, to go with the cover art.
Scream’s SCREAM FOR HELP will arrive September 18, sporting a new 2K scan from the original film elements, presented in 1.85:1 widescreen. Rife with sex, violence and absurd story turns, SCREAM FOR HELP (scripted by FRIGHT NIGHT and CHILD’S PLAY’s Tom Holland) also features a score by Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, and stars Rachael Kelly, Marie Masters, David Allen Brooks, Lolita Lorre, Rocco Sisto and Corey Parker. The synopsis: “Terror invades an upper-class New York community as 17-year old Christie Cromwell [Kelly] cleverly uncovers her stepfather’s horrifying plot to murder her wealthy mother. She’s on to him, yet no one will believe her because she’s just a kid: smart, imaginative, maybe she’s just taken a crazy idea to the limit. Suspense builds when a series of shocking events confirms her worst fears. Alone, afraid and helpless, terrified Christie and her mother are held prisoner in their own home at the mercy of ruthless killers.”
The bonus features are:
- NEW Audio commentary by the Hysteria Lives
- NEW “Cruel Intentions”: an interview with writer Tom Holland
- NEW “Stepfather of the Year”: an interview with actor David Allen Brooks
- Theatrical trailer
