Is “THE CLEANSE” director behind the new “CRITTERS” film?

The reboot of CRITTERS has gone through some ups and downs over the last year, but now there’s evidence that a very qualified filmmaker is about to start rolling on it.

This past January, CRITTERS: A NEW BINGE was announced as a mobile series for Verizon go90, from the ZOMBEAVERS team of writer/director Jordan Rubin and co-scripters Jon Kaplan and Al Kaplan. With Verizon go90 now defunct, Production Weekly’s most recent bulletin is reporting that a new CRITTERS movie is filming next month in South Africa. And not long ago, THE CLEANSE writer/director Bobby Miller posted on Instagram that he’s in South Africa to do a new feature. Considering that THE CLEANSE (which we reviewed here under its original title THE MASTER CLEANSE) is a satirical film involving little creatures, could his unnamed project be the CRITTERS reboot? We sure hope so, as we’re big fans of THE CLEANSE around here, so stay tuned for any confirmations and updates.
