Jason Voorhees is Coming to your Mobile Very Soon

Monday, January 15, 2018 | News

BLUE WIZARD DIGITAL has announced a FRIDAY THE 13TH – THE PUZZLE GAME coming to mobile platforms very soon.

From the makers of Slayaway Camp, the award-winning “Bloodiest Puzzle Game Ever”  hockey mask-wearing horror icon, Jason Voorhees, is reborn for your mobile devices. This frightening puzzler lets you go behind the mask (in many different incarnations) on Jason’s mission to rid Crystal Lake (and beyond) of campers and other people who get in his way.

Players take control of the masked maniac by moving him around the countless puzzle levels and attacking victims, wielding a selection of weapons or indirectly using environmental elements like bear traps, woodchippers, and campfires. Kill scenes are filled with (comical) blood and guts as you progress through puzzles and a multitude of episodes which include levels like classic campgrounds with other exciting locations such as Manhatten, empty amusement parks, supermax prisons, beach resorts… and even outer space.

“I loved the balance of horror and humour the Blue Wizard guys brought to Slayaway Camp,” said Friday the 13th series creator Sean Cunningham, “and I’m thrilled to see their take on Friday the 13th.”

BLUE WIZARD founder Jason Kapalka adds: “Though it might surprise PopCap players, I’m a lifelong hardcore horror fan, but it’s pretty hard to make a terrifying game on your phone! As with Plants vs Zombies, we’re taking a more playful, tongue-in-cheek approach than is usual for Friday the 13th, while still paying genuine tribute to all those classic films. We’re sensitive to the concerns a lot of players have with free to play titles and we’re definitely trying to avoid the more obnoxious money-grabs. They’ve promised to send Jason after us if it sucks.”

FRIDAY THE 13: THE PUZZLE GAME will be initially released on iPhone and Android devices as a ”Free to Slay” title with optional in-game purchases.

Get ready campers and check out more on this and other releases at these locations.
