Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) is bringing fright fans a reboot of the cult-classic from Wes Craven, THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS (1991), according to Collider. Producing alongside Peele will be Win Rosenfeld, through their own Monkeypaw Productions company, with Universal distributing as they have for previous Jordan Peele projects. Peele will not be directing the reimagining.

THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS was originally released by Universal Pictures in 1991 and starred Brandon Adams, Everett McGill, Wendy Robie, A.J. Langer, and Ving Rhames. The film received mixed-to-poor reviews but has built up a cult following of die-hard fans over the years. THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS turns 29 on November 1st, making this news especially timely.
