The deadly doll is becoming a franchise monster.

Variety reports that James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse will reteam on a sequel to M3GAN, which has already grossed over $60 million domestically in just 11 days. Universal will once again distribute, and has set a January 17, 2025 release date. Allison Williams as M3GAN creator Gemma and Violet McGraw as her daughter Cady will return for the follow-up, as will screenwriter Akela Cooper, though it hasn’t been determined at this point whether Gerard Johnstone will be back to direct. Wan, Blum and Williams will produce.

“After I first saw the movie, we had a good sense that a sequel might really work,” Blum told the trade. “So, we broke our cardinal rule and we started talking about a sequel before the movie was released. I felt so bullish that we started entertaining a sequel earlier than we usually do.”

Plot details haven’t been revealed, so keep your eyes here for updates!
