New films from the directors of WE ARE STILL HERE, [REC], BASKIN and PULSE are part of the first wave of title announcements from Cinepocalypse, the Chicago genre festival debuting in November that showcases exciting films from around the world.

Spawned and evolved from Bruce Campbell’s Horror Film Festival, Cinepocalypse runs November 2-9 at the Music Box Theatre (3733 N. Southport Avenue, Chicago). Simon Barrett, screenwriter of YOU’RE NEXT, THE GUEST and others, will serve as guest host, and writer/director Joe Carnahan (THE GREY) will host a series of 35mm repertory screenings called “Blood, Guts, Bullets, and Octane.” In addition, actor Eric Roberts will be on hand for a special live recording of Doug Tilley and Liam O’Donnell’s acclaimed film podcast “Eric Roberts Is the Fucking Man.” And the fest will host the world premiere of a new film resulting from The Cinepocalypse Midnight Movie Challenge: Boulderlight Pictures’ JD Lifshitz and Raphael Margules (CONTRACTED, BAD MATCH) were dared to produce a genre feature exclusively for Cinepocalypse, with production to begin immediately upon release of this announcement.

The initial round of movies showing at Cinepocalypse are:
