If you’ve ever been annoyed by people chatting or texting in a theater, SHHHH is the horror film for you. It’s heading for release next week; read on for the info, trailer and poster.

SHHHH, written and directed by Jason Rutherford, hits next Wednesday, May 16 on Amazon, iTunes and Google Play. It stars James Henderson, Diane Ayala Goldner (FEAST), Tiana Cara (pictured above), Peter Stickles, Mike Endes, Russ Meyer veteran Kitten Natividad, Austin Stoker (ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13), Joe Pilato (DAY OF THE DEAD), Elissa Dowling (WE ARE STILL HERE), Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman and veteran exploitation director Robert Vincent O’Neill (ANGEL). Death Waltz Records’ Umberto contributed his first original score to the film, Eric Fox created the makeup effects and Devon Whitehead did the poster seen below. The synopsis: “Harris [Henderson] and his mother love the movies, but sometimes other audience members spoil things. When disruptive filmgoers start dropping like flies, Harris finds himself confronting his past and questioning his sanity.”

“SHHHH was fueled by hanging out at movie revival houses, where I encountered many inconsiderate hipsters ruining the experience,” Rutherford tells us. “We shot on location throughout Los Angeles, including the New Beverly Cinema, the Million Dollar Theatre and the Silent Movie Theater.” Rutherford, who has contributed supplemental material to Blu-rays like Grindhouse’s PIECES and I DRINK YOUR BLOOD, Vinegar Syndrome’s MALIBU HIGH and PENITENTIARY and Scorpion’s GRIZZLY, is also working on the documentary MASTERS OF THE GRIND, featuring interviews with genre folks like Herschell Gordon Lewis, Jack Hill, Greydon Clark, Lawrence D. Foldes, Joel M. Reed, Sid Haig, Dyanne Thorne and many others.
