Ending a long period of speculation, the actress who’s been fleeing Ghostface since the original SCREAM has been confirmed today as coming back for the latest film.

Paramount Pictures and Spyglass announced today that Neve Campbell will once again play Sidney Prescott in the new SCREAM, which is set to shoot in Wilmington, NC for release January 14, 2022. She joins fellow SCREAM veterans Courteney Cox and David Arquette, back as Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley, along with Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega (THE BABYSITTER: KILLER QUEEN). Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (READY OR NOT) will direct from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (ZODIAC) and READY OR NOT’s Guy Busick.

“After spending time speaking with Radio Silence,” Campbell says, “they have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the SCREAM franchise. I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”

“We’re pinching ourselves!” Radio Silence says in a statement. “It’s hard to express how much the character Sidney Prescott shaped our love of movies and to have the chance to work with Neve is truly a dream come true. It just wouldn’t be a SCREAM movie without Neve and we’re so excited and honored to join her in Woodsboro.”
