New international trailer for Icelandic psychochiller “RIFT”

Currently making its way around the festival circuit, RIFT is the new genre outing from CHILD EATER director Erlingur Óttar Thoroddsen. We’ve got the new international trailer to share with you.

Also known under its Icelandic title RÖKKUR, the film premiered at Sweden’s Goteburg International Film Festival earlier this year and made its North American premiere this past July at Outfest, where it won the award for Artistic Achievement. Coming Stateside showcases include Austin, TX’s Fantastic Fest, the BFI London Film Festival, the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival and the New Orleans Film Festival. Björn Stefánsson, Sigurdur Thór Óskarsson and Guomundur Ólafsson star; the synopsis: “The story centers on Gunnar [Stefánsson], who receives a phone call from his distraught ex-boyfriend Einar [Óskarsson] months after they break up and realizes there is more going on then he knew after he drives to the secluded cabin where Einar is holed up. There, in stark and desolate Icelandic countryside, the two men must come to terms with their broken relationship. But someone else appears to be lurking outside the cabin.”
