After I STILL KNOW…, I’LL ALWAYS KNOW… and the streaming series, the hook-wielding fisherman is coming back for more.

Deadline reports that, no doubt thanks to the success of the rebooted SCREAM franchise, Sony and producer Neal H. Moritz are in talks to reteam for a new follow-up to I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, the 1997 slasher hit based on the book by Lois Duncan. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are also in discussions to reprise their roles from the original and its first sequel I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is set to direct the new film, from a script by Leah McKendrick. Robinson helmed the well-received Netflix youth thriller DO REVENGE and co-wrote THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER among others, while McKendrick’s credits include writing, producing and co-starring the recent vigilante film M.F.A. The duo came up with the pitch for the I KNOW WHAT YOU DID reboot, which Sony loved and snapped up. No story details have been released yet, though presumably the vengeance-seeking fisherman and his deadly hook will be back as well.
