Hosted at IMAGINE CINEMAS CARLTON on Monday, April 23rd at 9:00pm, enjoy two full hours of the craziest, goriest, most-disturbing and off-the-wall short films the genre has to offer! Plus Q&As with some of the filmmakers! $10, 18+. Fully liquor-licensed theatre!

Thorn (15 minutes, Japan, premiere)

The director of TIFF Midnight Madness selection ‘Vampire Clay’ brings this surreal and impressive tale of a bullied boy, his avenging mother, and the pet cactus that will bring everything to a disturbing conclusion. A must-see!

Eat Jeremy (10 minutes, UK, premiere)
DIR: Sam South 
It’s the Apocalypse, and a small group of people have a difficult choice to make. Comedic take on the end of the world.

Salient Minus Ten (13 minutes, premiere)
DIR: Emma Dark
An average man is propelled into a strange game of chance, where the stakes are a matter of life and death.

What Metal Girls Are Into (15 minutes, premiere)
DIR: Laurel Vail
Three women attending a metal festival in the desert find something disturbing in the freezer of their vacation rental home. Horns up for the mayhem that ensues! Previous selection of Screamfest.

Limbo (8 minutes) 
DIR: Will Blank
A man finds a dying dog on the side of the road. In exchange for water, the dog grants him a single wish. Featuring the voice of Sam Elliott, based on the comic strip by Marian Churchland. Previous selection of Fantastic Fest.

Rain (15 minutes)

Told with impressive puppetry and vast sets, experience the tale of a town without sunlight or rain, a tyrant who controls the only source of water, and the mysterious wanderer offering a bright side to it all.

Your Date is Here (6 minutes)
DIR: Todd Spence, Zak White
While playing an old Mystery Date board game, a mother and daughter realize the game holds more evil than amusement. Previous selection of Toronto After Dark and more.

The Freeze (9 minutes)

The Plague (10 minutes, Uruguay)

Maddi McGillvray
Maddi is the Editorial Assistant at Rue Morgue Magazine. She is also a PhD student in Cinema and Media Studies at York University, where she writes extensively on the horror genre. Maddi is completing her doctoral dissertation on women working in horror. She is also currently writing book chapters titled "Fleshy Female Corporealities: The Cannibal Films of the New French Extremity" as well as "To Grandmother’s House We Go: Documenting the Aging Female Body in Found Footage Horror Films."
