He’s stalking out of the woods and into select cities in the coming months: Jenn Wexler’s punk slasher film THE RANGER now has its first commercial theatrical dates.

Have played numerous festivals this year, THE RANGER will open August 17 at New York City’s IFC Center, with director Wexler, producer Heather Buckley and other guests in attendance. The movie then opens in LA September 7, followed by playdates in other cities. Wexler scripted with Giaco Furino, and the cast is headed by Chloe Levine (THE TRANSFIGURATION), Jeremy Holm, Granit Lahu, Jeremy Hope, Bubba Weiler and Amanda Grace Benitez. The synopsis: “After a run-in with the cops at a punk show goes sideways, Chelsea [Levine] and her pals flee the city in search of a place to lay low. Running to the security of Chelsea’s old, abandoned family cabin in the woods, they fall under the watchful eye of an overzealous park ranger [Holm] who holds a secret from Chelsea’s past.” See a teaser trailer and clip below, our RANGER review here and a set-visit report here.
