The film’s Oscar-winning composer has also been announced.

20th Century Studios has released the trailer and poster for A HAUNTING IN VENICE, which hits theaters September 15. Director/star Kenneth Branagh, who previously explored the scary side with MARY SHELLEY’S FRANKENSTEIN, returns to literary fear with this adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel HALLOWE’EN PARTY. It’s his third outing as detective Hercule Poirot after MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS and DEATH ON THE NILE; Michael Green (LOGAN) scripted, and the cast also includes Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, Riccardo Scamarcio and recent Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh.

The synopsis: “A HAUNTING IN VENICE is set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve and is a terrifying mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.” In addition, Branagh has announced that the film’s music will be created by acclaimed Icelandic composer Hildur Guđnadóttir, who won the Oscar, Golden Globe, Grammy and BAFTA Awards for the JOKER score, and also grabbed a Grammy for CHERNOBYL.
