World-premiering June 15 at the Cinepocalypse festival at Chicago’s Music Box Theatre, DEADCON is a new film from Alter, the horror banner of Gunpowder & Sky. Check out the trailer after the jump.

DEADCON was directed by Caryn Waecther from a script by Scotty Landes (MA), and according to the official synopsis, the movie “tackles isolation in the age of social media and follows real-life YouTubers Lauren Elizabeth and Claudia Sulewski as they face vengeful ghosts even more horrifying than their devoted fans.” The cast also includes Dominic Burgess, Lukas Gage, Mimi Gianopulos and Aaron Hendry. Following the Cinepocalypse premiere, DEADCON will play more fests this summer and fall, with dates to be announced. Alter has become a presenting sponsor of Cinepocalypse, beginning a year-long partnership with the Music Box; for details of the festival, click here.
